Why am I receiving Error 5 - Userid and Password not authenticated even though the userid and password are correct?  Some email providers require additional email account security actions to be taken to allow the app to access your email.  If these security actions are not taken then Error 5 can result.  Below is a list of some popular email providers, the security actions and the security action steps required for each email provider.

Why am I receiving a "Recommendation" alert while the app reads my emails? In order for the app to function properly it must be on the screen during the process of fetching the emails from your email account.  At other times the app can be off the screen.
Why does the app stop reading emails when the device is in sleep mode?  Currently while reading emails the device must remain active.  The device should remain active while reading emails but should the device not stay active you can do one of the following:
  • Tap the screen when it begins to dim.
  • Set the devices Auto-Lock setting to a longer time limit (Settings->Display & Brightness->Auto-Lock->longer time limit).
Is an internet connection required to run the app?  Yes.  In order to access your emails an internet connection is required.
Are my email account userid and password secure?  All personal information, including userid and password, are kept confidential on your device.
Is my personal information collected and sold?  No personal information is collected or sold by BDP Corporation.
Who do I contact for support?  Email us at support@bdpcorp.com.
What does it mean when the title text turns red while adding an email account?  Email account information is verified for correctness.  If any information is incorrect, the title text turns red to indicate an error with the input field.

Is there a way to hide the email provider icon for each email account?  Yes. On your device, visit ‘Settings -> Delete Emails -> Slide the Show/Hide Email Provider Logo to the right.’

Why am I receiving Error - 8, Too many simultaneous connections were made to this Gmail account"? Gmail has a limit to the number of simultaneous connections based on your IP address.  This error indicates that the Gmail connections limit has been reached.  You will need to manually sign out of your active Gmail sessions in order for the app to connect.

DELETE EMAILS
Why do I receive Error – 17 incorrect trash folder specified for my Gmail Account?  There is a Gmail option that hides the Trash folder from apps that use IMAP access, which is required by the app. The steps below will unhide the Trash folder making it accessible to the app.
  1. Sign into your gmail account using a computer.
  2. Under the menu bar on the left side of the screen, click "more".  "Manage Labels" should appear somewhere underneath.
  3. Click "Manage Labels".
  4. Find the "Trash" label under "System Labels" and make sure that the "Show in IMAP" checkbox is checked. If not checked, the app will not see the folder.
  5. Set the Trash Folder to [Gmail]/Trash.
  6. Delete your email.
Note: The procedure above may have changed since this document was published and will vary depending on the type of device being used. We recommend using a computer to make the changes.
Why does Delete Emails require a Trash Folder?   In order to protect against the inadvertent deletion of emails, the app will move your deleted emails to the email provider/client trash folder prior to deletion.  The Trash folder name is specific to each email provider.  Delete Emails attempts to fill in the Trash Folder name that corresponds to some common email providers.
Are my emails permanently deleted?  Deleted emails will be moved to your Trash folder prior to deletion from the requested mailbox.  The Trash folder can be emptied using your email client.
Can I specify the email provider's trash folder name as the folder to remove emails from?  No, since deleted emails are sent to the trash folder upon deletion they would never be removed from the trash folder.
What should the Email Account Link settings look like for Gmail? Gmail account Userid and Password are prompted for during connection and are not required here as indicated by the sample below.

What does it mean when an error is detected in the Trash Folder name?  Each email account provider has a specific trash folder name.  The majority of email providers use “Trash” as the folder name but some like Gmail do not.  You will need to identify the specific name used to designate the Trash folder for your particular email provider/client.

UNSUBSCRIBE
Does UnSubscribe actually unsubscribe from email subscriptions or does it capture and relocate the emails?  The benefit of UnSubscribe is that it actually unsubscribes from unwanted emails by following the unsubscribe procedure of each email sender.  This is the most effective way to unsubscribe from unwanted emails.  Requesting to unsubscribe via email is not as effective, since not all email senders will process these requests.
Why does UnSubscribe not retrieve all my emails?  UnSubscribe retrieves emails that meet the following criteria:
  • The specified filter date where the email has been received is either the current day or the past 2, 7, 14 or 30 days.  The default filter date is the current day.
  • The sender’s email domain name is unique, and
  • The sender’s email contains an unsubscribe link.
What should the Email Account Link settings look like for Gmail? Gmail account Userid and Password are prompted for during connection and are not required here as indicated by the sample below.
